Dogs! Dogs! Dogs!

The story so far: Part-Time Dog¬Ýis the story of a PhD candidate in philosophy in need of some extra cash. A rich couple in Brooklyn Heights hire him to pretend to be a dog for their kid, because they don't want a real dog peeing all over their rugs. It is not an uplifting story. About The Not-Quite-So-Daily Dog

Welcome to the "Not-So-Daily Dog," a not-terribly-frequent email/blog that lets you see the work in progress on Part-Time-Dog, my upcoming graphic novel. Read on or click here to subscribe to the not-so-daily email.

There are three things you should know, right off the bat:

  1. If you subscribe to the email (or send me a note telling me that you're subscribing to the RSS feed of the blog), you are eligible to win a free piece of art from this book. Details are below the fold. Did I mention that you can't win if you unsubscribe? If I didn't forgive the oversight. But I think I did.

  2. This book is filled, yes filled, with pictures of dogs. Your dog could be included!! Just send me a photo of your pet, and there's a good chance I'll sketch him or her and put a picture in the book. I'll credit you in an upcoming email and eventually in the book itself. Remind me, and I'll even send you a high-resolution JPG of the image, gratis.

  3. This is not a solicitation for anything. Oh, I suppose that it's possible that you might be so inclined to mosey over to my website, say, and maybe interest yourself in some illustration or design work, and perhaps then feel compelled to hurl huge wads of money in my general direction. But I'm not actually asking you do so. I'm merely implying that it would be a good idea and then clearing my throat a few times, which is totally different.

You're coming in the middle of the story, but it's easy enough to catch up just by clicking on the image down below. (If the image is grayed out, click here). To proceed to the blog, click here.

Hope you enjoy.

Welcome aboard!

Art Contest
Just by receiving this email, you've been given a chance to win one of three pieces of original art from the book, or even a brand-new, frame-it-and-show-your-mama original sketch from the artist! And if you forward this email to someone else, and they sign up to "The Daily Dog" by sending a note to dailydog@seltzerstudio.com, you'll receive an additional entry. (They'll be entered too; fair is fair). All this just for not unsubscribing!

If you do unsubscriibe, your entry to the contest will also be voided, but then again, if probably weren't interested in the art in the first place, nor in the feelings of the artist, who is, despite his size, a delicate flower. (If you want to be dropped from the email but choose to subscribe to the RSS feed, just send a email with the heading ’ÄúSwitching to RSS’Äù to dailydog@seltzerstudio.com, and your entry(ies) will be preserved.)
